Default Temperature Controller Settings

The LakeShore 331S Temperature Controller has been programmed by Bruker with default settings applicable to Dimension Icon Electrochemical Cell applications. Some of these are modifications of LakeShore’s original defaults. Both settings are listed below.

Reset Procedure: LakeShore Defaults

  1. To reset the controller to the LakeShore default settings, press and hold the Escape key until the contents of Figure 1 appear:

NOTE: The “Code Date” in Figure 1 varies with firmware revision.
  1. Use the up/down arrow keys to select Yes (to reset) or No (to cancel)
  2. Press Enter. A second screen appears (see Figure 2):

  1. Use the up/down arrow keys to select No, then press Enter.
CAUTION: Selecting Yes to clear curves in the last step erases any stored curves other than the 21 standard curves. The Electrochemical Cell uses a nonstandard curve (i.e., #22); it would have to be re-entered if curves were cleared in the last step. Contact Bruker Technical Support if the nonstandard curve used by the Electrochemical Cell must be re-input to the controller.
CAUTION: Verify that both Input A and Input B are set to the Bruker defaults.

Reset: Bruker Defaults

Only the parameters appearing in bold font in the “Bruker Default” column have values different from the LakeShore default, so need to be changed. To reset individual parameters to the Bruker default:

  1. Press the associated controller front panel function button.
  2. Press Enter (repeatedly, if necessary) until the parameter of interest appears.
  3. Toggle the up/down arrow buttons to the value desired, or enter a numerical value.
  4. Scroll (press Enter repeatedly) until the end of options for the parameter, or press Escape to quit the function button.
NOTE: The Bruker defaults are highlighted (bold) where they differ from the LakeShore default settings.
